Our Services

Dr. Kelley Wright

To our valued patients,

Due to increasing pressure from multiple facets of the Ontario health care system post-COVD, wait times to see a physician continue to increase. Never before have primary care providers received such a large number of rejected referral requests and delays in obtaining specialized tests and services for our patients. This often means that a single patient referral request can be redirected several times before being accepted. Furthermore, patients must travel further to access these services, and the amount of time and resources that the office must dedicate to complete these requests continues to grow. At the same time, the uncompensated administrative burden or practicing medicine in Ontario continue to accumulate.

Despite an increase in our office hours and employing extra staff, our patients continue to be impacted by these factors, with wait times being the unavoidable result. Our commitment to quality of patient care and attention to your health needs are unwavering. Be assured that not only in this practice, but in multiple health care settings Dr. Wright continues to work tirelessly to care for her patients to the utmost of her abilities without compromise.

A 2023 survey by the Ontario College of Family Physicians finds that:
- On average, Family Physicians spend 19.1 UNPAID hours/week on administrative tasks and paperwork
- The average cost of operating an independent family medicine practice exceeds $100,000/year
- Currently 2.2 million Ontario residents have no access to primary care, and this number is projected to increase to 4.4 million, or 1 in 4 Ontarians, by the year 2026
- 65% or Family Physicians polled state they are planning to retire, leave or change their practice due to underfunding of health care and lack of support for primary care services in Ontario

Your patience and understanding, considering the current state of the health care landscape is greatly appreciated as we collectively navigate this challenging time.

Contact Us

Essential, pre-natal, and well-child visits will continue but will be scheduled in such a way as to reduce inter-personal contact in our waiting room.
If you have a medical concern, please contact our office.  We will still be proactively managing our patients during this time!

Our receptionists will arrange for either a telephone or video-based assessment with Dr. Wright if an in-person visit is not essential. If necessary, an in-person visit will be scheduled at a time to minimize your exposure to other individuals.

In order to prepare for a phone or video appointment with Dr. Wright please allow 30 minutes before and after the scheduled time to receive the call.  For example, if your appointment was booked for 10 am, please be available from 930 to 1030, just as you would if you had an in-person visit, as some appointments run earlier or later.  Here is a helpful link to preparing for a virtual care appointment:

In keeping with public health recommendations, any patients with symptoms of respiratory infection or undifferentiated infectious disease cannot be seen at our clinic and will be directed to the COVID-19 Assessment Center.

Flu Shots

Flu shots will be available the second week of October.  We will be booking shots by appointment only to minimize traffic in the office and to ensure that we order sufficient stock.

It’s more important than ever to get a flu shot this year.  The Flu shot will be available in Ontario very shortly.  Flu vaccines will be offered for our patients who currently have booked appointments, while supplies last.  You can also get your shot at your local pharmacy. We will update the website and voicemail if we are granted permission to organize a drive-through flu shot clinic For those paediatric patients or patients wishing to get a flu shot for the first time ever, please note that TWO shots spaced one month apart will be required. Vaccination is one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread and reduce the impact of infectious diseases, whetherit’s seasonal flu or childhood infections. A safe and effective vaccine(s) for COVID-19 will protect us against the novel coronavirus and will be an important step to safely resume normal life in Canada and around the world. The Government of Canada is working on all possible fronts to secure access to safe and effective vaccines and related supplies for Canadians. Here is what Canadians need to know about the COVID-19 vaccine. Learn More Here

Dr. Wright and staff would like to sincerely thank our patients for their patience and understanding during these challenging times.  We want to reassure you that we are working tirelessly every week to develop innovative ways to continue to meet your health care needs.
