What do I do if I think I might have, or might have been exposed to COVID-19?

If you are experiencing severe shortness of breath (for example, can only speak one word at a time), call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department.  Otherwise, start by completing Ontario’s self-assessment for COVID-19. If you have additional questions after this assessment, or if directed by the results of this assessment to contact your family doctor, please contact us.

What do I need to know about the COVID-19 vaccine?

Vaccination is one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread and reduce the impact of infectious diseases, whetherit’s seasonal flu or childhood infections. A safe and effective vaccine(s) for COVID-19 will protect us against the novel coronavirus and will be an important step to safely resume normal life in Canada and around the world. The Government of Canada is working on all possible fronts to secure access to safe and effective vaccines and related supplies for Canadians. Where can I get more information about self-monitoring, self-isolation, or social distancing?

What is the COVID-19 Assessment Centre?

The Assessment Centre is where patients with symptoms of COVID-19 can be assessed by a physician and tested for COVID-19 if necessary. This clinic, is currently located at 490 Huronia Road in Barrie, and can be reached at (705) 764-9390. This clinic is working in conjunction with the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre.

How have things at Dr. Wright’s office changed because of COVID-19?

COVID-19 has changed every facet of life, and our operations are no different. We have been open and providing care since the pandemic started. To adhere to physical distancing recommendations, many of our appointments are being conducted over the phone or video conference. (More details here.) We are not currently seeing patients who have symptoms of COVID-19 in the office. Any patient with a symptom of possible COVID-19 who requires in-person assessment can be seen at the COVID-19 Assessment Centre.
